Increased Telehealth Access

Telehealth has proven to be one of the most effective tools available for extending healthcare access to underserved and rural communities. In a state where the majority of counties face provider shortages, the ability to connect with a qualified physician or specialist remotely is not a convenience — it is frequently the most practical option available. AFP Arkansas supports removing outdated licensing and regulatory restrictions that limit telehealth delivery, ensuring reimbursement parity so that providers have adequate incentive to offer virtual care, and establishing telehealth as a permanent, fully integrated component of Arkansas healthcare delivery.
