2026 Policy Agenda

The expansion of education choice in Arkansas — through Education Freedom Accounts, charter schools, micro-schools, and open enrollment policies — represents a generational shift in how the state approaches the relationship between families, students, and educational institutions. AFP Arkansas is committed to defending these policies against efforts to weaken or reverse them, and to expanding access so that education choice is a practical reality for every Arkansas family, not merely an option available to those with the resources to navigate a complex system. When families have genuine choices, schools must compete for students on the basis of quality — and students benefit as a result.
