Direct Primary Care
Direct Primary Care (DPC) is an innovative healthcare delivery model that provides patients with direct access to a primary care physician for a flat monthly membership fee, bypassing the administrative complexity of traditional insurance billing. DPC members benefit from same-day or next-day appointments, extended access to their physician, referrals to discounted laboratory and imaging services, and significant savings on generic medications — with no hidden fees or surprise charges. By eliminating third-party billing intermediaries, DPC allows physicians to focus on patient care rather than paperwork, improving outcomes while reducing costs. AFP Arkansas supports removing regulatory obstacles that limit the growth of DPC practices in Arkansas and recognizes this model as a practical, market-driven solution for the uninsured and underinsured.
