Limited Government
REINs Act
The growth of the administrative state has transferred significant policymaking authority from elected legislators to unelected agency officials — a development that undermines democratic accountability and exposes Arkansas families and businesses to regulatory burdens they had no meaningful voice in creating. The Regulations from the Executive In Need of Scrutiny (REINs) Act would require legislative approval before major new administrative rules take effect, restoring democratic accountability to the regulatory process. AFP Arkansas believes that if a regulation is consequential enough to impose on Arkansans, it is consequential enough to require a vote of their elected representatives.
